At 32 stories and 447 feet, Foshay Tower seems small by today's skyscraper standards. However, the tower, built in 1929, was the tallest building in Minneapolis until 1971, when it was eclipsed by the 775-foot IDS Tower. Today, Foshay Tower is a well-preserved remnant of graceful, 1920s-era Art Deco style, complete with its lobby's elegant chandeliers, marble accents, and symmetrical patterns. |
